Akashic Studies
What is the akasha?
Akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning “subtle” space, radiance, ground luminosity, and primordial substance. In scientific terms, it is the quantum field. The akasha or quantum field is fundamental; it underlies all of reality. It is inside of us and outside of us, from the physical to the nonphysical, and spans all the dimensions and densities of time and space.
The akasha consists of information in motion and relationship. It is constantly updating, making new connections, restructuring, and evolving. Within the akasha are recorded every thought, feeling, word, deed, event, and possibility within space and time. It includes the history of our soul’s journey through time, space, and other dimensions as well as probable and possible futures. See my articles Subspace---The Final Frontier and Consciousness, the Yoga Sutras, and Remote Viewing.

Edgar Cayce and the Akashic Records
Edgar Cayce says the akashic record is: The record that the individual entity itself writes upon the skein of time and space, through patience – and is opened when self has attuned to the infinite, and may be read by those attuning to that consciousness...
Further:
Upon time and space is written the thoughts, the deeds, the activities of an entity – as in relationships to its environs, its hereditary influence; as directed – or judgment drawn by or according to what the entity's ideal is. Hence, as it has been oft called, the record is God's book of remembrance; and each entity, each soul – as the activities of a single day of an entity in the material world – either makes same good or bad or indifferent, depending upon the entity's application of self towards that which is the ideal manner for the use of time, opportunity and the expression of that for which each soul enters a material manifestation.

Linda Howe is the first person to receive a doctorate in Akashic Studies. Her dissertation, "Using the Akashic Records for Personal Growth and Transformation," was a first. How to Read the Akashic Records, published in 2009, was the first book to provide a definite process for accessing the records and to lay solid guidelines for ensuring success for those willing to apply themselves.
You can find other books and courses on reading the Akashic records, but Linda Howe's are the best! They focus on the subject and don't include tons of other material that is best mastered separately, such as chakras, mudras, etc. Certainly these other things help; anything that helps your clarity, health, and stability will be an aid in reading the records, but for me, I'd rather focus on a book or teacher dedicated to these subjects separately, as they each require a study in themselves.
